Part-time crisis line and volunteer manager.

Summary: Management and maintenance of a crisis and support line through scheduling and confirmation of volunteer shifts, recruitment, supervision and support of volunteers, and crisis line management. Responsible for development, implementation and maintenance of the volunteer program including coordination and facilitation of the mandatory training sessions.

Pay Rate: 20 hours per week, starting wage: $15.00/hour.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work or a related field; excellent verbal and written skills; ability to recruit, coordinate, arrange or train and schedule people with varying skills, abilities and diverse backgrounds; able to successfully complete all required background checks; strong computer technology skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; ability to learn new systems and implement within the scope of duties.

Volunteer Opportunities

The Crisis Center is staffed with professionals and support personnel, however there is always a need for volunteers to help in a number of capacities.  Simply said: we could not help the number of people we do without our dedicated volunteers!  All volunteers require complete background checks, so a very brief waiting period may apply before acceptance.  Depending on your background and level of expertise, you may be able to help us help others in the following programs:

Become a certified ASIST phone worker and answer incoming calls to our crisis line.  Training is free; volunteering is rewarding.
